Accredited Acceptance Testing After Construction and Renovation
Polish building law requires construction projects to be documented as compliant with environmental, hygienic and technical standards before occupancy. OIKOS performs the full range of accredited acceptance measurements under PCA accreditation AB 934 — indoor air quality, ventilation effectiveness, asbestos clearance, lighting compliance and machinery acoustic power. One laboratory, one quote and one set of reports covers the entire handover documentation, simplifying the work for investors, general contractors and facility managers.
What We Measure at Building Handover
Five accredited acceptance areas — coordinated where possible within a single site visit to reduce cost and shorten the handover timeline:
- Indoor air quality after renovation
- Formaldehyde, VOCs and acrylonitrile
- Ventilation airflow rates
- Microbiological air quality (HVAC)
- Microclimate parameters in occupied premises
- Asbestos fibres before and after removal
- Asbestos material sample analysis (PCM)
- Illuminance and uniformity (PN-EN 12464-1)
- Acoustic power level of machinery (EN ISO 3744/3746)
- Noise and vibration of installations

Indoor Air in Premises
Indoor air quality testing after renovations and fit-outs: formaldehyde, VOCs, acrylonitrile. HPLC-UV (DNPH) and GC-FID per the PN-EN ISO 16000 series.
Ventilation Effectiveness
Supply and exhaust airflow measurement plus microbiological air quality assessment (PN-EN 12599). Documentation for HVAC system handover.
Asbestos Fibre Clearance
Respirable fibre concentration measurement by PCM after asbestos removal work. Confirmation of safe handover for occupancy.
Lighting Acceptance
Illuminance and uniformity verification after lighting installation per PN-EN 12464-1 and PN-EN 1838 (emergency lighting).
Machinery Acoustic Power
Sound power level determination per EN ISO 3744/3746 — required by Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
One Laboratory for the Entire Handover Documentation
General contractors and facility managers usually need three to five different acceptance measurements at the same time — air quality, ventilation, asbestos clearance, lighting and machinery noise often appear together in a single handover protocol. Coordinating these across multiple laboratories means multiple site visits, multiple report formats and multiple invoicing cycles. OIKOS performs all of them under one AB 934 accreditation, with reports prepared in the format expected by Polish authorities and ready for inclusion in the as-built documentation.
For asbestos, we cover both phases — pre-removal monitoring during the demolition or refurbishment work, and clearance testing afterwards — using PCM microscopy on air samples and on bulk material samples to identify fibre type and content. For ventilation acceptance, we measure airflow rates, microclimate, microbiological air quality and noise of the installation in a single coordinated visit. Standard turnaround for the final report is 10 business days from the measurement date.

Acceptance Testing Questions
When should we order acceptance measurements after renovation?
We recommend waiting at least several days after finishing works for indoor conditions to stabilise — the exact time depends on the materials used and the ventilation in the space. Our specialists advise on the optimal timing when you place your order. For ventilation acceptance, the system must be commissioned and balanced before testing.
Can multiple acceptance tests be done in one visit?
In most cases, yes. Indoor air quality, ventilation, lighting and microclimate measurements can typically be combined into a single coordinated site visit, reducing cost and shortening the handover timeline. Asbestos measurements during active removal work and machinery acoustic power testing usually require dedicated visits and are scheduled separately.
Are your reports accepted for occupancy permits?
Yes. All measurements operate under PCA accreditation AB 934, and reports are prepared in the format expected by sanitary authorities, Building Inspectorate (Nadzór Budowlany) and other regulators reviewing handover documentation. Reports include the accreditation symbol, applied reference methods, measurement uncertainty and clear pass/fail assessment against normative requirements.
How fast can we receive the report?
Standard turnaround is up to 10 business days from the measurement date. In justified cases — for example when handover dates are fixed or when commercial penalties apply — shorter timelines can be arranged. Please let us know your deadline when requesting a quote so we can plan the laboratory schedule accordingly.
