Our Mission
Since 1988, OIKOS has provided Polish industry, public institutions and laboratories with reliable measurement results. Since 2008, we have been meeting the requirements of subsequent editions of the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard. Our mission is to give our clients evidence they can act on — whether that means proving regulatory compliance, protecting workers from hazardous exposure, or documenting environmental performance.
Accredited Competence
Dual PCA accreditation — AB 934 for testing under PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 and PT 010 for organising proficiency testing under PN-EN ISO/IEC 17043. Results accepted by Polish regulators and integrated into the laboratory quality systems of our peers.
Scientific Rigour
Our analytical laboratory operates across all regulated environmental media and workplace hazard categories — including specialised chemical agents, asbestos, mineral fibres and other substances that few laboratories in Poland can routinely determine.
Nationwide Field Teams
Our mobile measurement teams operate across all of Poland from our base near Wrocław. We also accept samples shipped by mail or courier from clients across the EU.

We Set the Standard Other Laboratories Are Tested Against
OIKOS is one of the few PCA-accredited proficiency testing organiser (PT 010) in the Polish OSH and environmental laboratory market. The interlaboratory comparison programmes we design are used by other laboratories across Poland to demonstrate measurement competence to the accreditation body.

Milestones
Our Journey: From a Workshop in 1988 to a PCA-Accredited Laboratory and PT organizer.
1988 — Founded
OIKOS established in Święta Katarzyna near Wrocław as an independent laboratory for workplace and environmental measurements — one of the first private labs of its kind in post-1989 Poland.
1995 - POLLAB (reg. no. 283) and EUROLAB Membership
OIKOS joined POLLAB, the Polish Centre for Accreditation laboratory club, as member No. 283, and was simultaneously accepted into EUROLAB, the European Federation of National Associations of Measurement, Testing and Analytical Laboratories. The dual membership placed OIKOS inside the Polish quality-system community and the EU-wide policy forum that shapes laboratory practice across the European Union.
2012 — PCA AB 934
Granted PCA accreditation AB 934 under PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 for testing in occupational hygiene and environmental protection — results are formally recognised by Polish regulators and accepted across the EA Mutual Recognition Arrangement.
2021 — PCA PT 010
Expanded scope with PCA accreditation PT 010 under PN-EN ISO/IEC 17043 — OIKOS became one of the few proficiency-testing organisers for workplace and environmental measurements in Poland, the body whose schemes other accredited laboratories must pass.
2023 — viridiusLAB Network
OIKOS joined the viridiusLAB AG network of accredited European laboratories, opening a structured exchange with sister labs in Austria, Germany, Czechia, Slovakia and Italy on methods, proficiency testing and shared client mandates.
2025 - PT 010 Certificate Renewed
The Polish Centre for Accreditation confirmed renewal of OIKOS proficiency-testing-provider accreditation PT 010 under PN-EN ISO/IEC 17043:2023-10. The new certificate was issued on 24 July 2025, signed by PCA Director Lucyna Olborska.

Every quote details the methods, scope and turnaround for your measurement programme. Reports are delivered within 10 business days of sampling and prepared in formats accepted by the Regional Environmental Inspectorate (WIOŚ), the National Labour Inspectorate (PIP) and the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA).
Our quality system is audited annually by PCA and complemented by participation in international proficiency testing programmes. Drinking water testing is additionally approved by PPIS Wrocław, providing a regulatory endorsement that goes beyond standard accreditation for water utilities and public-supply operators.
Every facility, permit and workstation is different. We design the measurement scope around your specific permit conditions, technological process and reporting obligations — not from a fixed catalogue. Where permits are unclear, we help you interpret them before quoting.

OIKOS is a member of the viridiusLAB AG network — a federation of independent, accredited testing laboratories from Austria, Germany, Italy, Czechia, Slovakia and Poland, all committed to ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems and structured proficiency-testing exchange. Membership gives our clients access to a wider European competence pool while OIKOS retains its PCA accreditation, Polish legal entity and team near Wrocław.

What does OIKOS measure?
We cover workplace environment hazards (chemical agents, dust, noise, vibration, microclimate, lighting, asbestos, electromagnetic fields), general environmental media (water, air and stack emissions, soil, wastewater, environmental noise, landfill monitoring), building acceptance testing, and laboratory subcontracting services. Do you operate outside Lower Silesia?
Yes. Our base near Wrocław is our only office, but our mobile measurement teams cover all of Poland. For analytical work, samples are accepted by mail or courier from anywhere in the EU.
How long does it take to receive a test report?
The standard turnaround is up to 10 business days from the date of sampling. Shorter timelines can be arranged in justified cases — please let us know when placing the order.
Are your results accepted by regulatory authorities?
Yes. PCA accreditation AB 934 under PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 means our results are accepted by the Regional Environmental Inspectorate (WIOŚ), the National Labour Inspectorate (PIP), water authorities and other regulators in legally regulated areas. Drinking water testing is additionally covered by PPIS Wrocław approval.
